does insurance cover mechanical faults/breakdown???

I only got the faults dignosed in my nissan micra that is paid for not long ago for 2000, The faults have been as follows Gear box temperament as well as clutch, Exhaust pipe.

This exactly would price me the total of £700, would my word compensate for it?
